Voici la saison que je préfère, l'automne avec ces couleurs et son petit goût de fin de légèreté... Il va falloir se couvrir et mes aiguilles vont retrouver leur raison de vivre...
J'ai toujours aimé les tas de bois soigneusement ampilés et le choix de cette laine a peut-être bien été inspiré par la couleur de cette écorce... J'adore cette laine qui a de superbes reflets mais elle est tout de même très scratchy. On la trouve chez http://www.lalainieredewazemmes.com/laines/lotspromotionnels/cevene.htm

Mais bon, l'été n'étant pas fini, ma première écharpe devait être légère et les coquillages ramassés sur la plage m'ont pas mal inspiré!

Fall is definitely my favorite season. That's the right period for my needles and my crochet hooks. I have purchased several skeins of yarns and the wool I used to create this scarf is a beautiful one but unfortunately a bit scratchy...

Voici le temps béni des confitures, conserves et autres douceurs qu'on prend le temps de préparer en fin d'été...
Le potager a été généreux cette année aussi et nous "croulons" sous les tomates. Je n'ai pas résisté au plaisir de photographier les premiers pots de coulis de tomates!

Je communique la recette à celles et ceux qui me la demanderont!

Cela fait maintenant deux ans que je n'ai rien posté... 2 ans passés à me battre avec un fichu cancer (lymphome de type B très agressif) avec complications. J'attends des derniers examens qui vont me permettre, je l'espère, de souffler enfin et de savourer chaque minute qui passe!
Je viens de finir la lecture d'un ouvrage de Guy Corneau intitulé Revivre. Je le conseille à tous ceux qui doutent...
Ma créativité est en train de revenir mais il n'est pas question pour le moment de sortir plusieurs modèles par mois: pas assez d'énergie et envie tout simplement de respirer au rythme de la nature...

Une des mes amies étaient venues prendre le café et hop on en a profité pour étrenner le dernier né de mes bérets "Berlingot".

Elle était ravie et l'a bien sur emportée! Il me faut à présent m'en faire un autre...

Blue Blue as the sky!!

Ca y est, je l'ai terminé hier et le résultat me plait bien. J'aurais aimé le photographier sur la tête d'une de mes amies mais elle n'était pas disponible: tant pis, ce sera pour une autre fois.

Here it is. Just finished yesterday evening and well I like very much the result. I'd have prefered to take a picture with one friend but she was unfortunately busy somewhere so let's go with the doll...

J'ai créé ce béret pour les femmes mais sur la pression de ma fille (!!) j'ai rajouté des instructions pour qu'il aille aussi aux petites filles...
Question technique, le point n'est pas très compliqué et j'ai rédigé des instructions incluant toutes les photos pour le réaliser ainsi qu'un schéma. Il est crocheté avec un crochet 4.5 mm.

I designed this beret for woman but I got so many pression from my little girl that I have added instructions so that it fits for both!!
The pattern stitch is not difficult and rather striking. I have written instructions including all the pictures to do it + an additional scheme. I used a crochet hook 4.5 mm

Berlingot Beret

Tout commence, soit par un petit dessin comme celui-ci. Plutôt basique en fait, ainsi il peut être modifié tout à loisir... Ou bien une envie d'un petit point irresistible et dans l'histoire en cours de ce béret, je voulais créer une torsade au crochet. En bonne tricoteuse-crocheteuse de modèles d'hiver, j'ai beaucoup de mal à abandonner la laine au profit du coton et ma fois, ce béret sera terminé maintenant et non pas en septembre.

Everything begins with a simple drawing or just a crochet stitch or knitting stitch and I can't stop the process. In that story I wanted to create a rib in crochet. To be honest I am more inspired by winter than by spring or summer so that beret will be crocheted now and not in September...

En ce qui concerne la laine, j'ai dans mon stock de la cashwool superbe de chez la lainiere de Wazemmes .
Je réservais deux pelotes d'un superbe bleu pour de la layette mais tant pis j'imagine très bien l'effet final.

Now what about the yarn. After a few tests I have chosen a beautiful cashwool I have in my stash. It should be dedicated to any baby project but I am sure eventhough I did not crochet it already that it will be just the right choice! I purchased this at la lainiere de Wazemmes (This French shop receives beautiful lots at a low price).

There is quite a long time that I did not write on this blog... But I have knitted and crocheted so many things in the meantime and painted so little!
I will try to post new ideas and projects more regularly...

Spring is rather late to come and I was dreaming of a hat knitted with a lace stitch that could deal with decreases.
I found one rather which is rather simple and adapted it to work in the round. I called this hat Troutrou which means in French little holes).

I have added a hair band that fits perfectly my daughter who is always requesting new hats.

It's knitted in cotton glace from Rowan but of course can be made with any similar yarn!

Anatomy of a lemon

As my knitting projects are still pending I am posting pictures of a new painting that will be shown during my next exhibition in September.

This painting is really an exercise with all the required thin coats of painting of the Flemish technique...

I am fascinated by this art even though it's not a very free approach of painting but I must confess I am still very shy in front of a white canvas!

The skin of the lemon below belongs to another painting that I will show later.

The Vittadini Pullover I was dreaming to knit!!

I managed to knit this winter several pullovers I was dreaming to do for several years.

There were always good reasons not to start: children, home, painting, etc, etc

The Vittadini pullover from Vogue knitting Winter 2002 is one of us! I really love 'vintage Vogue' from the 90's. Much more than the last ones!!

The yarn (JCA Trina from Vittadini has a beautiful stitch definition even though it is worked with needle size 9 (US).

That's a really good project for speedy knitters who want to see an immediate effect. I did not resist to talk about this project on Ravelry .

I will talk to you very soon on another passion I have : knitting, crocheting for babies and toddlers...

JUST STARTING

Hi everybody,

This is my first post and a long time I wanted to but no time. Sorry for my English, I am French and there are several years that I did not practise...
I have lots of projects to share, lots in mind and several already finished.!I will show you them as soon as I can.

To start I get to share with you my first cable pullover of last winter. We have moved last summer in a colder region and a colder house too and I do appreciate now knitting and wearing warm cardi and pullovers!
This one is a pullover from Phildar of last winter issue 480.
I really enjoyed the cable work. It's an easy one you can easily do while watching the TV...

The most difficult part was in fact the sewing. The chest band is sewn to the body before the collar is knitted. Like many knitters I have sewing but this project was impossible to modify!
I have knitted the collar with a circular needle instead of sewing it when finished as the instructions mention. Most of French mags don't use circular needles.

I don't know the yarn used by Phildar. It usually contains too much synthetic fibers for me! I have chosen a great yarn from my stash (50% alpaca, 50% merino).
